Two new courses…

…starting tomorrow. “Pragmatics” and “The History of Linguistics”. Unfortunately they overlap tomorrow: pragmatics from 1PM to 4PM and history of linguistics from 2PM to 4PM.

Mailing list

Today I’ve been added to the PhD student mailing list at my department. Another important step for me! I’ve debated with myself, and have come to the conclusion that if I was accepted into the PhD program by mistake, they should have discovered it by now. I guess it’s for real.

New colleagues

I sent an e-mail to the other doctoral students at my department, and soon I received two replies, welcoming me. Nice!

Getting organized

At the library I got some information about EndNote which the librarian suggested we use to manage references. It seems like a really good way to make sure that all references are in their right place. But how do you organize your references IRL?? I have a ton of articles, books, copies of books etc [...]
